Window tinting questions
What is the legal window tint limit in the UK?
The front windscreen must let at least 75% of light through, and the front side windows at least 70%. There is no legal limit on rear door glass, rear quarter lights or the tailgate window, so those can be tinted to any shade. We will not fit anything illegal to the front of a road car.
How much does window tinting cost in Eastbourne?
Tinting the rear glass on a three-door car is £150, and £225 on a five-door. The difference is simply the extra pair of door windows. If old film needs stripping off first, tell us when you book so we can allow the time.
How long does window tint take to cure?
The film is fitted wet and needs time for the remaining moisture to evaporate. Leave the windows up for three to five days, and expect slight haze or small water pockets during that period. Both clear on their own.
Will the tint bubble or turn purple?
Not with the film we fit. Bubbling and purpling are failures of cheap dyed film where the adhesive breaks down under UV. Quality film uses colour-stable technology that holds its shade for the life of the car.
